FAQ

Here are some questions we hear a lot. If you have another, send us a note and we’ll get back to you right away.

Program Specifics

Q: What is your application process?

Austern International welcomes people of all education backgrounds, however our programs specifically target Millennials aged 18–26. We love people who are driven, gritty, curious and hungry to learn. We believe that the most successful Austernians are very motivated to succeed at a personal level, but also value the importance of succeeding as a team.

Payment/Billing

Q: How much does the program cost?
A$2,970 (GST inclusive). If you are not from Australia, we will give you the quote in your local currency.

Q: What is included in the price of an Austern Program
  • Our standard 3-week programs include 2 components: (1) 1-week onboarding activities (ie, orientation and training) component; and (2) 2-weeks career immersive program.
  • Other activities and events, such as the Mixer Party, company tours, educational stimulus, training workshops, networking opportunities, opening and closing ceremonies and other cultural trips.

If you wish to change programs less than 60 days before departure, a $320 handling fee will be charged.
If you wish to cancel less than 60 days before departure , there will be no refund given.
If you wish to cancel after you have paid the full payment, there will be a half refund given.

Housing and Accommodation

Q: What are accommodations like?
Accommodation varies according to location. In Austern International’s past experience, for Singapore and Hong Kong, Austern International booked out an entire hostel accommodation for students. If we cannot book out an entire hostel, we book out entire rooms or floors. The locations of the hostels are typically close to public transport, convenient to get to as well as located in generally safe areas.

Q: What amenities are included (internet, electricity, phone, kitchen, etc.)?
All basic amenities are included, in particular, when booking accommodation, Austern International ensures that there is internet access, electricity sockets, lockers and safe, CCTV, wristband access security and laundry.

Before Your Trip

Q: How can I find people on my departure?
Once you've booked your trip you will be invited to our Mixer Party and private Facebook Group which is created just for you and others on your trip. Chat before you go and get to know who you're going with, share travel tips and advice and countdown to your adventures.

Q: What else do I need to prepare?
Students who participate in our program are expected to arrange their own overseas travel and overseas medical insurance, and produce to us evidence of such arrangement before departure.
